INFO JUNKIE: Steven Hill

Steven Hill

Vice president, Talent Pipeline Development
Wilmington Chamber of Commerce

Hill was named the chamber’s vice president of talent pipeline development in September. He is tasked with helping to bolster the region’s health care workforce through programming and initiatives.

Technology use for communication and education: “Email and texting are my most common uses of technology at work, but my personal time leans toward YouTube as I try to strengthen my DIY skills at home.”

Surfs the web for resources: “Most of my web reading is workforce research associated with N.C. Commerce, UNC System and federal reports along with Talent Pipeline Management information from the U.S. Chamber. I am also learning a lot about our area through the Wilmington Chamber news updates.”

On podcasts: Hill likes to listen to history and nonfiction podcasts. “Recently, I started listening to 5 Minute History. It gives me quick dives into historical achievements that I may later want to review in an audiobook or other media.”

On movies — and a reckoning: “I recently watched the latest Indiana Jones movie because I loved them growing up. I was a bit taken aback seeing my childhood hero growing old and then realizing I’m doing it with him.”

Go-to apps: “For fun, I use Fishweather a bit to try and find that elusive offshore day along with Tides to keep me from using my SeaTow app.”
