A Wilmington Wells Fargo Advisors group, Atlas Investment Management, transitioned to an independent entity under the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network (FiNet), officials announced early this month.

Atlas Investment Management serves an office in Wilmington at 1135 Military Cutoff Road and an office in Greensboro. The group of four advisors and nine associates at Atlas joined NEST Capital as part of the transition. NEST is a network of independent advisors based in Troy, Ohio, under Wells Fargo’s FiNet arm.

FiNet is the independent brokerage arm of Wells Fargo established to allow wealth advisors more control over their business. It allows firms an independent identity while maintaining the ability to draw from Wells Fargo’s resources, according to FiNet’s website.

Atlas’s services include investment management, risk management, employee and executive benefits, tax management strategies, legacy planning and education funding.

The firm’s four advisors are Zach Edwards, Jason Harris, Christopher “Rusty” Knowles and Adam Bolick. Harris, Knowles and Bolick are based in the Wilmington office, and Edwards is based in Greensboro. The firm’s transition to an independent entity in Wilmington and Greensboro was announced April 5.

The team’s combined experience is 60 years, and Atlas’s advisors managed about $424 million in customer assets as of April 2, according to the release.

The firm was formed in 2019 with three Wells Fargo Advisors Wealth Brokerage Service advisors. It has since added its fourth advisor, a second location in Greensboro and five staff members, three of whom will be located in Wilmington.

“The newly independent Atlas Investment Management team is excited to take ownership of the direction and future of the practice,” the release stated. “The entire team at Atlas Investment Management is confident that this change is a great step to better serve clients and establish their own unique footprint in the market.”

Atlas Investment Management officials declined to provide any additional comments for this story.
